The Adventist Development
and Relief Agency (ADRA
International) is a non-governmental organisation established
in The Gambia in 1980 by the Seventh-day
Adventist Church from the USA.
The humanitarian charity are primarily engaged in poverty
relief programmes such as initiatives to enhance food
security, basic health, primary and secondary education. They
also have in place a preparedness programme to aid victims
of natural disasters.
ADRA has been engaged in a number of community projects such
as potable water delivery initiatives in Sotokoi, Brufut Village,
Faratu Daru, Ghana Town as well as health projects in Sinchu,
Brufut, Abuko and Lamin Village.
