Information:
N.P.E. is
a large, private seafood processing plant which includes packed frozen
shrimps, frozen fillets of sole, octopus and squid which are exported
to the European market.
Sales of shrimp in 2001 accounted for over 80% of its total turnover
(32 million Dalasis), the balance being split between sole fillets
(10%) and other demersal species (10%).
The prices of these seafood products in 2002 were respectively 120
Dalasis / kg for fillets of sole and 180 Dalasis / kg for shrimp
catches.
