clinic is a private Gambian medical services company offering clinical
and laboratory
services, operating a 24hr ambulance, overseas evacuations and the
retail of
medicines and related products.
They provide a comprehensive one-stop-shop of full medical
examinations using modern equipment such as electrocardiogram,
Ultrasound (for pregnancy, liver, kidney, etc), X-Ray etc, and attend
all emergency cases.
Their X-Ray Unit can carry out all forms of X-Ray test investigations.
Their laboratory is well equipped and they are able to perform various
tests such as for the malaria parasite, electrocardiogram (ECG)
examinations, urine analysis, blood sugar
levels, pregnancy, STDs, Aids/HIV, tuberculosis, cholesterol levels
etc. They diagnose and treat diseases including diabetes, hypertension,
asthma, headaches / migraines, torso infections, back pain, urinary infections
and related difficulties, sleeping disorders and gynaecological
problems.
There is a paediatrician, and midwife available.
The ambulance service is operational 24 hours per day which can make
house visits to its patients as well as providing medically assisted transport to
Banjul airport or hospital or airport. Tourist visitors are welcome
should they require any attention.
Africmed can also conduct medical evacuations
of its patients by air or land to Dakar
for treatment to clinics which it has an agreement with. They can also
make patient referrals
the UK's King's College Hospital (London) or Ghana for further treatment.
