Background & Biography:
Edrisa Jobe (also spelt Edrissa) is a Gambian painter
who was born in 1968 in Basse and is now living in
Bakau in the Katchikally area. After finishing his secondary school
education in 1985 he went to reside in Banjul where he started
painting in 1986 on canvas using watercolours. In 1989 he progressed
to using acrylic and oils on canvas which he still uses till the
present day. His works focus on history and stories of African
cultural issues. Below are some of his earlier works.
