IHRDA has been working, since 1998, to strengthen the African human rights
system through offering pro bono legal counsel to victims of human rights
abuses, conducting training workshops and other capacity building activities for
lawyers and other human rights defenders.
IHRDA trains human rights defenders on how to use African human rights
mechanisms; the provisions of the ACHPR and the African Charter on the Rights
and Welfare of the Child (ACRWC), as well as the procedures of the ACmHPR and
ACERWC.
