Trust Bank was incorporated in July 1997 and currently has 13
branches & employs approximately 238 people.
TBL took over the Meridian Biao (Gambia) which had a big presence in
English speaking Africa.
It was listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange in November
2002.

News: In an effort to make banking
more convenient and efficient for its customers it introduced a new
SMS banking service in the country.
Customers will be given a
4 PIN number to access the service. These numbers can be changed as
and when they wish and it is specific to their mobile numbers, their
account number and mobile operator.
On Tuesday the 14th of April, 2009, its shareholder authorised the
transfer of up to D90 million from the banks statutory reserve
account to stated capital over the next one year in order to increase
its stated capital to the minimum of D150 million as prescribed by the
Central Bank.
Financials Highlights: In 2008
Trust Bank Gambia Ltd. saw an annual net profit margin of 30.27% with an operating
margin of 44.69%. Their Return on average assets of and their Return
on average equity of 41.91%. It recorded a 146% after tax operating
profit of D99,800,000 in 2008.
This compares to its 65% drop in post-tax profit recorded in
2007.
