Trust Bank was incorporated in July 1997 and currently has 11 outlets.

It took over from Meridian Biao (Gambia) which had a big presence in English speaking Africa.

It was listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange in November 2002.

TBL's shareholders includes bank employees, individuals in the country and institutions in the Gambia and Ghana.



In the year 2006, Global Finance awarded Trust Bank Ltd, Best Bank, The Gambia.

In the years of 2003, 2004 and 2005, The Banker Magazine, a subsidiary of the Financial times, awarded Trust Bank Ltd, The bank of the year for The Gambia.

News:
In an effort to make banking more convenient and efficient for its customers it introduced a new SMS banking service in the country.

Customers will be given a 4 PIN number to access the service. These numbers can be changed as and when they wish and it is specific to their mobile numbers, their account number and mobile operator.

Financials Highlights:
Shareholders of Trust Bank Gambia Limited have realised significant growth in their equity and dividend yield as the bank has made substantial net profit of D116 million for the year ended 31 December 2006.

To meet any depositors claims and its short-term obligations owing to its stout acid asset or cash and bank balances of D713,532 against depositors’ current accounts of D703,407.
