Gambia Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) was The Gambia's
first national private service broadcaster, registered
in England (United Kingdom), GBC was wholly owned by
'Invest Gambia'. As such, GBC was obliged to provide
a comprehensive range of distinctive programmes and
services.
GBC informed, educated, entertained, supported and developed
culture and education and as far as possible secured
fair and equal treatment for all in the nation and around
the Globe, while offering programming on television,
radio and newspaper.
GBC’s television was mainly across the satellite and
cable networks of across the world. The broadcast channel
had sought UK approval to make GBC on of the biggest
broadcasting corporations of African origin. Their combined
media and broadcasting portfolio was set to reach more
than 50 million viewers daily, and intended to attract
viewers from all parts of western Europe, parts of Africa
