Moukhtara Holding (Gambia) Company (MHC) is a multi-sector
industrial firm engaged in a number of distributive
and manufacturing fields on Moukhtara Road in the Kanifing
Industrial Estate area of The Gambia. The business was
founded back in 1986 and has a staff of more than 550
employees working in 15 sub-divisions in eight sectors
of the Gambian economy.
Areas of Business Activity:
• Building Materials:-
Gravel processes washed and specially screened red laterite
stones for the construction industry.
Alida Marble manufactures standard and customised polished
granite and various coloured marble slabs & tiles
for homes, organisations and commercial enterprises.
Marisa Bricks produces fired, red clay bricks at Busumbala
Village using locally sourced clay and other materials.
• Cosmetics & Body Care:-
CITGA Gardenia distributes shampoo, nail polish, Frote,
toilet tissues, lipstick, body lotions, hair products,
• Confectionery Sweets:-
Nachif has been operating since 1976 the division has
almost 30 workers producing Black Mints, Battura Mint,
Supermint and Zebra Ginger.
• Freight &
Executive Removals has been in the freight forwarding,
overseas relocations and household removals business
since 1986. Personal items are carefully packaged for
shipment out of Banjul Airport or by sea at the port
by container or waterproof plastic protective encasing
to ensure their safe arrival at their intended international
• Lumber / Timber Processing:-
Nyambai Sawmill is
engaged in the production of building grade quality
timber for the construction sector. They can provide
planks of wood of many varying sizes and thickness.
Moukhtara's KaPlast Division is a manufacturer of plastic
containers and bags including polythene disposable aprons
and food package sealing bags.
• Printing &
Type Press produces car stickers, lit business signs,
stationery, cards and paper, printing of menus and similar
• River Transportation:-
The company operates a number of 550 metric ton barges
which depart from Wharf Bonto to deliver goods from
the port area in Banjul up-river to as far away as Basse
