The specific timetable of scheduled flights from Spain's El Prat's Barcelona Airport (BCN) to Banjul is subject to periodic changes. The main airline which used to run direct flights to Banjul was Spanair.

The airline made its departures from Barcelona's Terminal B on Mondays and Saturdays overnight and the aircraft arrive back in Spain the following morning.

Spanair became a Star Alliance company pioneer in offering flights to Gambia from Spain. It announced in February 2003 three new flights between Barcelona (a.k.a El Prat), Madrid, and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria establishing the first scheduled service between Spain and Gambia. The airline has since ceased its operations.
