Review:
The Carlton Hotel is a multi-floored accommodation
block on the main road into the
capital.
It was renovated in 1980 and is more suited to those
staying for just a few days.
Mosquitos are very often in the rooms and yard and
they don't have mosquito netting over the beds in
the guest rooms. No WiFi too!
Water supply can be a problem and you may only be
given a bucket of water if the mains supply is shut
down. During the daytime the noise outside the bustling
street can take some getting used to. Maintenance
issues are a problem, and supplies for soap, toilet
paper have to be demanded, and count yourself lucky
if two of you get two towels.
There have no dining room and the eating area harks
back to the 1950s. There is a restaurant nearby though.
Let's hope things improve soon, but for now you should
consider skipping this 1-star outfit if you can!
