Information:
GTS, which was founded in 1997, was a charitable tourist
organisation focused on supporting long-term employment,
training and sponsoring education. Their operations
were funded via annual membership subscriptions, running
a Bar & Restaurant, excursions to the local community,
direct sponsorship, commissions from property sales
of TAF houses and providing tourist accommodation for
holidaymakers to Gambia in Kololi.
The benefit of membership was that you can get cash
discounts on many travel related services such as in
their own accommodation in Senegambia area and airport
transfers.
In 2002 GTS established GETS
which supports education.
