Information:
Slok Air International Airlines
is a West African company which is registered in Gambia with
its main corporate headquarters located on Kairaba Avenue,
Greater Banjul.
The airline was incorporated in Nigeria on the 17th September,
1996 after which it began its air operations providing cargo
and air charter services.
In June 2003 Slok Air gained its ATL license which allowed
them to offer scheduled passenger flights which started started
in 2004. The carrier relocated to Banjul after have its operators
certificate suspended by the Nigerian aviation.
After some difficulties it was not possible to book with the
airline at the end of October 2008 as all its flights had
been cancelled. In 2009 the airline was re-named Slok Air
International and it re-started flying in February of the
same year.
Slok has a fleet of 5 Boeing 737-200 aircraft flying to Dakar,
Freetown, Monrovia, Guinea Conakry, Bamako, Abidjan with its
hubs at Banjul Airport and Accra. Its fares start from $272
(Oct. '08). In 1st class the airline can seat 12 passengers
and in 2nd class it has a capacity of 98 seats. The planes
have a noise compliance of Stage 3.
Awards:
On the 23 April 2007 Slok Air International Gambia Limited
was awarded the Best West African Customer Friendly Airline
for 2007 by the prestigious Institute of Direct Marketing
in Nigeria.
