Background Information:
Mayor of
Banjul City Council is Samba Faal (28 June, 2008).
As at mid
February 2008, under the outgoing chairman of the interim committee
Alhaji Alieu Mboge, the council saw an increase in daily revenue from
around D7,500 to D27,500 compared to the previous 3 months. In
the same time period the committee upgraded the abattoir at the Albert
Market and also rehabilitated the small road that leads from Campama
Estate through the centre of the Banjul at Wilberforce Street. There
has also been an upgrading in the street lights available.
