Company Profile:
The Gambia
Electrical Co. Limited is a home grown indigenous company that was
established in 1977 and has its origins in electrical consultancy,
installation engineering, sales and services. The office is located at
the Kanifing Industrial Estate, just off the Jimpex Road, with branches in Banjul, Factory Road,
Kanifing and Kairaba Avenue in the KMC area.
GEC's electrical products range includes electrical wiring,
cabling chest freezers, bathtubs and showers sanitary ware, energy saver light bulbs, generators,
split unit air-conditioners conduit
boxes, light fittings, switchgears and workshop tools.
Their services have now expanded to include
real estate and
a foreign exchange bureau; mainly Western
Union Money Transfer and foreign
exchange
transactions. Power generation and distribution is a major activity
area that is currently being considered as a major portfolio under the
GEC banner.
Among GEC's past electrical engineering projects includes the Bansang
