Gambia Electrical Co. Limited is a home grown indigenous company that
was established in 1977 and has its origins in electrical consultancy,
installation engineering, sales and services.
GEC's electrical products range includes electrical wiring,
cabling chest freezers, bathtubs and showers sanitary ware, energy saver light bulbs, generators,
split unit air-conditioners, conduit
boxes, light fittings, switchgears and workshop tools.
Their services have now expanded to include real estate and
a foreign exchange bureau; mainly Western
Union Money Transfer and foreign exchange
transactions. Power generation and distribution is a major activity
area that is currently being considered as a major portfolio under the
GEC banner.
