Review:
The former Spy Bar now
called Jakarlo officially opened its gates on the 23 October 1998,
following New York and Stockholm. It is now owned by its current
proprietor Mr. Mabou Touray who is also the organizer of Sound City
Promotion.
Jakarlo means "to face each other" and the nightspot is in the Senegambia area and is one of the largest
clubs in Gambia. It is partly open-air and is frequented by
tourists and locals alike. The club area is airy and large, with
a good atmosphere, raised seating everywhere with its own table
area. It has a total of 3 bars. The music is a potpourri
of hits both old and new featuring global as well as African
musical artists. The front gate has security and there is plenty
of space in front of the establishment i.e. a car park which
double as a football field during the say. There are numerous
taxis parked nearby, till late evening, so you can easily get
transport back to your hotel. There are gardens outside the main
dance hall with seating allowing you a little chill out time in
the fresh air.
